About SAVA

Construction Workers
Sacramento Academic and Vocational Academy (SAVA) is a free public charter school serving students in grades 6-12 at the SAVA Natomas Campus and 7–12 across our other three campuses in the greater Sacramento area. We provide a personalized and flexible learning experience that meets students where they are and helps them build toward a successful future—whether that means college, career, or both.

At SAVA, learning doesn’t follow a one-size-fits-all model. Our blended learning approach combines independent study, small group instruction, live classes, and online coursework, allowing students to receive individualized support and learn at their own pace. Each student works with a credentialed teacher who monitors progress, provides guidance, and helps set goals tailored to their academic needs and future aspirations.

We offer a rigorous, standards-aligned curriculum with instructional supports built in, including targeted academic interventions in reading and math. Students can graduate with a high school diploma while also earning college credit and career certifications through our robust Career Technical Education (CTE) program.

All high school students enroll in at least one CTE course, with the opportunity to complete a full pathway in high-demand industries such as:

  • Electric Vehicle Maintenance & Repair
  • Game Design & Simulation
  • Early Childhood Education
  • Public Safety
  • Arts, Media & Entertainment
  • Construction Trades
  • Health Sciences
  • Entrepreneurship
  • Fashion & Interior Design
  • Manufacturing
  • Agriculture and Natural Resources

CTE courses offer hands-on learning, industry certifications, and dual enrollment with local community colleges. These experiences prepare students for college and career success while giving them practical skills they can use right away.

Beyond the classroom, SAVA emphasizes community engagement and personal growth. Each student completes a service learning project with a local business or organization to explore real-world interests and give back to their community. Our campuses also offer a variety of electives and extracurriculars—including art, creative writing, basketball, and teen leadership—to help students discover their passions and build confidence.

At SAVA, we believe that every student deserves a path to success. By combining academic support, career preparation, and personal development, we empower students to become self-directed, lifelong learners ready to lead and thrive in the future.
