About Me: I grew up in Turlock, California and attended college at Simpson University in Redding, California. While at Simpson, I played 3 years of baseball and graduated with a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Social Science. I earned my teaching credential at National University. My wife Shallon and I have been married since 2005 and have 3 children (Landon, Laine, and Lexi).  I have worked at SAVA in several different rolls since 2007.  I spent three years as a teacher, two years as Vice Principal and am now serving as Principal.  I love the culture at SAVA and the commitment our staff has to love, teach and guide every student that walks onto our campus.

Interests: I love to spend the summers in Tahoe with family and to watch or attend as many Giants games as possible.

Name: Ricardo Reyes

About Me: I came to SAVA in 2014 after 8 years teaching English at another local school. I love working at SAVA because we have the flexibility to serve our students in ways that other schools can’t. We build strong relationships and work hard to set students up for success both in and after high school.

Education: BA English Language Arts with emphasis in Cultural Studies

About Me:  I started at SAVA in 2011 and have worked as a teacher, Online Instruction Specialist and now Curriculum Coach. Before coming to SAVA, I worked at the middle and high school level in Elk Grove Unified and Folsom-Cordova districts. I feel so lucky to work at SAVA because I believe it is unique environment where teachers can guide students through all four years of high school and establish lasting, mentoring relationships. My favorite time of year is graduation- specifically when the students are recognized for becoming the first members of their family to graduate.

Interests: I enjoy outdoor adventures with my husband and two kids, traveling, and reading books recommended by friends.

Name: Ekaterina Kostyuk
Location: SAVA Charter School George Sim Center
Position: Site Manager

Education: B.S. in Business Management from CSU Sacramento

About Me: I joined the SAVA family in January of 2013 and I am currently an site manager for all SAVA sites. In May of 2013 I graduated from California State University, Sacramento with a B.S., in Business Management. I love to provide support to SAVA staff, parents, and students.

Interests: Traveling, being outdoors and spend time with my family.

Name: Tim Sprinkles
Location: SAVA Charter School
Position: CTE Vice Principal

Education: I attended three different colleges.  I played football and baseball for Washington State University. Then transferred to Humboldt State University to be the starting quarterback. I graduated from Sacramento State University with a degree in kinesiology and a teaching credential for physical education.

About Me: I grew up in South Lake Tahoe, California.  I taught special education for Placer County before coming to SAVA in 2009.  Since then I have served as a teacher, enrollment specialist, and lead teacher for Advance Path Academy prior to becoming vice principal in 2012.  I have been married since 2011 and have 2 little girls named Madeline and Elliana.

Interests: I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, reading, and staying active.

Name: Tara Jones
Location: SAVA Charter School George Sim Center
Position: Vice Principal

Education: BA in English from California State University, Sacramento; Single Subject Credential, English and MA in Education from National University.

About Me: I have had the privilege of working in education since 2002 and cannot imagine a more rewarding career. Prior to becoming an English teacher, I worked in the California State Legislature and served in the United States Army. Since coming to SAVA in 2013, I have served as an IEP teacher, English Specialist, and Curriculum Coach before my current position as a Vice Principal. I am passionate about working with at-risk youth and empowering students to succeed.

Interests: When I have down time, I enjoy reading, cooking, and camping; however, my favorite pastime is spending time with my family: they are my joy.
