Interests: Outside of work Ms. Feldman enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, eating, and shopping.

About Me: I was born in Seattle, WA and spent most of my growing up years in the Bellevue, WA area. My background is in the art field and I spent many years as a Graphic Designer and Marketing Director for several companies. I decided to go back to school online and completed my Associates in Visual Communications. I relocated in 2009 to Sacramento after remarrying. I taught an early morning religious class to high schoolers for four years. I have loved my time teaching and the transition to Para Educator was a perfect fit. I began as front desk Clerk 2016-2017 school year and enjoy greeting all our wonderful students each and every day!

Interests: I love reading, crocheting, doodling art, sewing, and cooking. I learned to spin my own yarn and weave a few years ago while raising alpacas. I am happily married and together we have a blended family including 1 daughter and 7 boys. We recently add a son-in-law and daughter-in-law to our brood and our first grand baby!

About Me: I highly enjoy working with children and young adults. I started volunteering at my church with 3rd graders and gradually branched out to all ages, kinder to young adult. Almost all of my volunteer work has been related to educational or recreational child development. For the past seven years, I have been the babysitter for a family with seven children, enjoying every minute of it.

Interests: I love line dancing, I go at least twice a week and try learning a new dance every time. I also love anything and everything Disney and spending time with my family and friends.

Interests: My favorite thing to do is traveling and hanging out with my friends and families. When I am not working I love to volunteer in the communities and nursing home.

About Me: I have been a special education for eighteen years. I have non-public school experience, public high school experience and for the past five years, charter school experience working with students with special needs. I especially enjoy working with the special education students at SAVA because I appreciate the ability to work closely with them and I enjoy being given the opportunity to support them in achieving their high school diploma. For so many students, the comprehensive high school environment did not work for them and they needed an alternative program to help them be successful and SAVA provides that for them. I love being a part of the SAVA team, collaborating daily with other educators to help students be successful.

About Me: I have many years of experience working with children and adolescents from diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds. Prior to joining the SAVA Elk Grove team, I was a School Counselor for a continuation high school and an Admissions Adviser with UC Davis Undergraduate Admissions. I truly enjoy helping and guiding young students to reach their full academic potential and to develop a strong sense of self. I encourage students to dream big because I believe all students have the ability to achieve anything they put their heart and mind to. I motivate and encourage all my students to think beyond graduation because their future and happiness matters!

Interests: My husband and two boys enjoy visiting families, reading fun stories, watching movies, and being outdoors. I love to watch cooking shows and cook new recipes! Some cool places that I had traveled to are Hong Kong and Germany. I love to embrace various cultures, languages, and learn new things!

About Me: I began my career in education back in 2001, teaching in an after school program and substituting while attending college.  I started teaching the summer of 2007 in a Sacramento elementary school. I have been teaching here at SAVA since the winter of 2007! I was born in Sacramento and I spent part of my childhood living in Ireland.  I have three daughters; one who attends SAVA, one who graduated from SAVA in the December of 2014, and a toddler. I have been married to my high school sweetheart since 1996. Together we have a lot of pets!

Interests: I enjoy reading, collecting insects, and learning new things. I attend an anime convention every year with my family and I love going on adventures with them. We consider ourselves geeks in my family, with sci-fi, science, books and history being big parts of our lives!

About Me: I was born in Berkeley California and raised in the projects just outside a large Navajo Indian Reservation in Tucson Arizona. We called it the Canyon. I began attending the University of Arizona, but after a series of unfortunate events, I joined the U.S.Navy in 1987 at the onset of Desert Storm.  I completed many educational courses of study including Hospital Medical Services School (HMSS) where my main course of study was pre and post-op care, and Field Medical Service School (FMSS) where I studied more gruesome and rewarding field emergency treatments.  I served my country from Camp Pendleton’s 21 area 1st Landing Support Battalion/Battalion Aid Station as an EMT and a PMR Specialist.  I’ve been married for 20 years (since 1994) and have 4 children currently attending college, 2 in High School, and 1 in Jr. High School.

About Me: I grew up in San Jose, California and still frequently visit the Bay Area. After attending several colleges, I got my degree at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. I have lived in the Sacramento area since 2004, and most of that time I spent teaching math at Einstein Middle School in Sacramento. I have taught a few different subjects over the years, but math remains my specialty. I live in Elk Grove with my fabulous wife and two wonderful children. I joined SAVA in 2015. It has been a big change from a more traditional classroom, but I enjoy the faculty, students and environment here at SAVA.

Interests: I enjoy watching and playing sports. I like being outdoors and staying active. I avidly root for the 3-time World Champion San Francisco Giants. I enjoy various types of games including board games, poker, and other card games.

About Me: I was born and raised in Ukraine and I moved to the Sacramento Area in 2001. I graduated from Sac State in 2013 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Studies. Then I earned my Multiple Subject Credential from Sac State in 2015. I am thrilled to work in SAVA as a teacher, what I believe as, the best job in the world. I believe a part of me has always known that I was going to be a teacher. As I went through my academic career I looked back on the values the ideas that had been instilled in me as a kid by my elementary school teacher, and once I realized the impact that one person had on me, everything clicked. It is not always easy to change a student’s life, which is why it takes a great teacher to do so.

Interests: During my free time I enjoy spending time with my family, going to church, biking, reading, and traveling the world.

About Me: I started at SAVA in August of 2016. Before coming to SAVA, my experiences include teaching high school English at a charter school for “At Promise” students, Social Sciences at a traditional school and 2nd grade at a private Christian school. My philosophy of education is grounded in the idea that “it’s not where students have been, it’s where they’re headed now.” Students need to know that they have a future regardless of their past. I enjoy working with my students to see them reach their educational and personal goals.

Interests: In my personal time, I love spending time with my family. Although we don’t live in the same area, when I get time with them, I cherish every moment. I enjoy traveling with my husband as well. On a weekly basis, I get to spend time with my church family who are a huge blessing in my life.

About Me: I have been an educator since 1997. Right out of college, I began my educator journey as an elementary school teacher for 10 years. Also during that time in my life, I became the proud mother of three handsome sons. After my third son was born, I resigned from my elementary school position, and stayed home with my children for about 2 years. Due to the transitions of life, I went back to work as a teacher, but I moved on to the secondary education level. I have been teaching at SAVA since 2008. In 2009, I became the At-Risk/Teen Parent Specialist and I still currently maintain that position. I have a natural passion and strength to want to teach and support the pregnant and parenting students. The other part of my position is to work with the general 12th grade population in the Credit Recovery Cohort. I am so proud to be a part of the SAVA team because our school is just a unique and amazing place for students to learn and achieve the academic opportunities they need to, not only earn their diploma, but also become the best they can be in life after high school.

Interests: I love warm weather and being near water. I also love listening to music, singing karaoke, traveling, and hanging out with family and friends. For about 5 years, I have been participating in a group class called Body Combat at my gym. It is a 60 min. high cardio workout that incorporates choreographed martial art moves from Karate, Taekwondo, Muy Thai, Boxing, and Jiu Jitsu. It is super fun, and I take the class between 5-7 days a week.

About Me:  My name is Jonson J Chin, and I am fortunate to be a member of the educational team at SAVA Elk Grove. I was born in San Francisco, went to middle and high school in Portland, Oregon, and have lived in the Sacramento area for a long time. I privately tutored students. I love what I do and enjoy watching students grow and learn daily.

Interests: When I have down time, I enjoy reading, volunteering, creating flyers, invitations, etc. My favorite pastime is spending time with family; they are my joy.

About Me: I have been working at SAVA since December of 2016.
