Location: SAVA Charter School Elk Grove
Position: Independent Study Teacher – Multiple Subjects; Parenting & At-Risk Specialist

Education: B.A. in Liberal Studies; Multiple Subject Teaching Credential with CLAD emphasis

About Me: I have been an educator since 1997. Right out of college, I began my educator journey as an elementary school teacher for 10 years. Also during that time in my life, I became the proud mother of three handsome sons. After my third son was born, I resigned from my elementary school position, and stayed home with my children for about 2 years. Due to the transitions of life, I went back to work as a teacher, but I moved on to the secondary education level. I have been teaching at SAVA since 2008. In 2009, I became the At-Risk/Teen Parent Specialist and I still currently maintain that position. I have a natural passion and strength to want to teach and support the pregnant and parenting students. The other part of my position is to work with the general 12th grade population in the Credit Recovery Cohort. I am so proud to be a part of the SAVA team because our school is just a unique and amazing place for students to learn and achieve the academic opportunities they need to, not only earn their diploma, but also become the best they can be in life after high school.

Interests: I love warm weather and being near water. I also love listening to music, singing karaoke, traveling, and hanging out with family and friends. For about 5 years, I have been participating in a group class called Body Combat at my gym. It is a 60 min. high cardio workout that incorporates choreographed martial art moves from Karate, Taekwondo, Muy Thai, Boxing, and Jiu Jitsu. It is super fun, and I take the class between 5-7 days a week.
